Your clients may be wondering why they haven’t spotted you on social media and assume you are “behind in the times”.
Potential clients may be looking at your web site before they decide to give you their business, or check you up on Facebook. So, what if you aren’t on Facebook?
Businesses are sometimes hesitant to get on Facebook or don’t pursue getting likes for their business page out of fear of overwhelming clients with advertising or by posting “too much”. Yes, there are rules and certain things you need to know. But if you haven’t started with social media yet – I recommend starting with Facebook and going from there. No need to sign up for Facebook, Twitter, Google +, LinkedIn and Instagram all in one shot. Overwhelmed? Not to worry, read on.
Here are the basics:
1. Commit – You need to commit to social media once you sign up. You cannot open a Facebook page, post a few articles and then come back months later.
2. Engage – Post on a regular basis, whether it be daily or weekly. You want your clients to remember you and share your posts to attract potential clients.
3. Quality – Remember: quality over quantity. Do not post twice a day trying to sell a product or service. Post things that are relevant to your audience such as articles they may be interested in or inspirational quotes. Trust goes a long way and a business constantly selling will not promote trust.
